Joe Cairns

Joe commenced his PhD studies at WRL in October 2020. His PhD project aims to improve understanding of the hydrology and carbon cycles of temperate highland peat swamps on sandstone (THPSS), and to quantify and assess the significance of the impacts of THPSS desiccation. Joe has over 10 years of experience in the water industry, in consulting and NSW state government, working on projects covering a range of disciplines, including: water quality, hydrology, aquatic ecology, ecotoxicology, and geomorphology.
