Congratulations Ian Coghlan - promoted to Principal Coastal Engineer

It is with great pleasure that WRL Director, Industry Research, Brett Miller, recently announced the promotion of Ian Coghlan to Principal Coastal Engineer.

Ian is well known in the coastal engineering industry, with many years of experience in the fields of coastal structures, processes, hazards and coastal management. As one of our chief physical modellers, Ian is acknowledged as an Australian expert in sand-filled geotextile container structures in the coastal zone. 

Ian’s generosity of spirit is legendary, having twice been awarded the highly contested “WRL Directors’ Award for Excellence” for the high standard of his project work, his generosity with his time and advice, and for always maintaining a friendly and unassuming presence.
