Coastal Engineering Short Course 2023

Ian Coghlan, Course CoordinatorWe have successfully wrapped up our two-day Coastal Engineering Short Course, run as a lead up to the Australasian Coasts and Ports Conference at Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The Pre-Conference Short Course is targeted at graduate or recently recruited coastal and maritime engineers, or professionals and researchers from other disciplines who are working in the coastal zone.

The course covers many fundamentals of Coastal Engineering, providing an overview of:

  • Beach morphology and coastal hazards
  • Current practice for coastal structures
  • New technologies and state of the art professional practice
  • Physical and numerical modelling
  • Practical case studies

This year we had 18 delegates joining us from all over Australia, as well as New Zealand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Many thanks to our enthusiastic course presenters for sharing your wisdom and contributing to another successful Coastal Engineering Short Course:
