Raimundo Ibaceta joined WRL as a PhD student in 2018 with the topic “Understanding and modelling long-term shoreline variability”. The aim of this work is to investigate the relative influence of different drivers of shoreline evolution at inter-annual to multi-decadal timescales. Raimundo combines data analysis, semi-empirical shoreline models and data assimilation techniques to explore the drivers of long-term shoreline evolution in the face of inter-decadal variability in forcing.

Supervisors: Dr Kristen Splinter, Professor Ian Turner and Dr Mitchell Harley.
