Professor Ian Acworth
Dr Ian Acworth is the Gary Johnston Professor of Water Management in the Connected Waters Initiative at UNSW. He has developed groundwater teaching at the post graduate level and works particularly in the field of groundwater resources. He is a Vice President of the International Association of Hydrogeologists.
Ian graduated with a first degree in Earth Sciences and then a Master’s degree in Hydrogeology, followed by a PhD in Groundwater Resources in Fractured Rock Aquifers in Northern Nigeria. He has a 30+ years record of work in groundwater in a variety of locations including UK, Africa, South America, The Middle East and Australia.
