Caroline Hedges

Caroline has a BA, Grad. Cert (Adult Training); Med, and over 20 years professional experience in academic and special libraries; especially in planning and provision of client services, administration, collection management, training and electronic services development.

In 2004, she was appointed by UNSW Library as the ‘Water Reference Librarian’ responsible for managing and providing diverse collection and client services at the Water Reference Library. Also for achieving UNSW library review recommendations to link work processes/services more closely to those offered by UNSW Library Physical Sciences Library services. At this time, opening days of the Water Reference Library were standardised to 3 days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

In 2007, the UNSW Library restructured away from a special library structure and within the new Information Services Department, Caroline now staffs and manages the Library under the title of ‘Outreach Librarian’. Caroline also works cross campus at the main Kensington library, providing outreach client support service to staff located in UNSW DVC Units and UNSW Global: Foundation Studies.
