Welltank
The Water Research Laboratory’s welltank is a small two story building measuring approximately 5 m in length and width. The lower level, which is partially underground, contains a cylindrical sand pit with a diameter and depth of approximately 4 m that was designed for infiltration experiments. The upper level is equipped with two cylindrical weighing lysimeters (diameter 1.3 m, depth 0.5 m), which are presently filled with cracking clay soils. The isolated location of the welltank allows uninterrupted long term soil column experiments.
