WRL leading at the National Hydraulics in Water Engineering Conference (HIWE2017) in Sydney this week
WRL academics and engineers have a leading role at the 13th Hydraulics in Water Engineering Conference, which is currently underway in Sydney.
The conference is hosted by Engineers Australia’s National Committee on Water Engineering and is the prime hydraulic conference in the region. Dr Stefan Felder has been heavily involved in the conference organisation as the joint Chair of the Scientific Committee and member of the local organising committee.
WRL is by far the strongest contributor of accepted peer-review papers resulting in 8 presentations during the three-day conference. Associate Professor Ron Cox will be giving the Henderson Oration, a highly prestigious key note lecture recognising his contribution to the science of hydraulics, and the practice of hydrology and water resources engineering in Australia.
WRL is also sponsor of the conference ‘welcome reception’, and has organised a highly popular field trip to our lab. We will be showcasing our world-class facilities to leading experts from academia and industry. The strength of the support and involvement of WRL at the HIWE2017 highlights our expertise in hydraulics, and our unique position within the hydraulic engineering community.
