Construction begins on NSW South Coast seawall designed by WRL
On-ground works commenced on an upgrade to a Batemans Bay seawall this week within Eurobodalla Shire. Located on the southern side of the Bay, the Caseys Beach South seawall protects both the public foreshore and a sewage pumping station from erosion. Coastal engineers at WRL led by Senior Project Engineer Ian Coghlan worked with Aurecon to prepare a design to upgrade the dilapidated seawall.
Improvements to the 40 year old coastal structure are expected to be completed by June 2017.
WRL also prepared management recommendations for the Caseys Beach North seawall which experienced significant wave overtopping during a storm event in June 2016.
